Group of 2 extremely scarce red-band covers from Kyakhta to Shansi during the First Year of Hung Hsien:(1) 1915(Lunar 26.12) from Kyakhta to Fenyang Shansi, bearing Junk 6c,comply with the flat rate of mails from Outter Mongolia to native, with Peking dater,Yr.1(9.1) TAIYUANFU,(10.1) KIAOCHENGHSIEN and FENYANGHSIEN bilingual daters,plus(1.1) KITSUNCHEN SHANSI arrival d.s.,the only existing Mongolia-related item crossing Year of Hung Hsien;(2) 1916 from Kyakhta to Fenyang via Siberia, bearing Junk 1c,3c and 6c,totally 10c,correct postage in line with the international rate then, tied by(10.4) KYAKHTA bilingual dater,Yr.5(10.4) MANCHURI bilingual dater,(25.4) KIAOCHENGHSIEN dater and KITSUNCHEN SHANSI arrival d.s. The announcement of Board of Communications was sent to Kyakhta delayed due to its remote location,so in April 1916 it’s still using the dater of(Hung Hsien) Yr.1,thus an example of the late use on Hung Hsien Yr.1 dater, one of the three Mongolia-related items still using Hung Hsien chops. Both covers above present clear markings and complete mail routes, addressed to the same Shansi businessman in Kyakhta, excellent condition; one surface mail, the other via railway; the former crossed the Hung Hsien Year, the latter a late use of Hung Hsien Yr.1 dater, both nicely featured, highly scarce items for Mongolian postal history collection.
